A Plunder of Blessings

“The LORD caused the Egyptians to look favorably on the Israelites, and they gave the Israelites whatever they asked for. So they stripped the Egyptians of their wealth!”
‭‭Exodus‬ ‭12:36‬ ‭NLT‬‬

I was reading Exodus and realized, too many Christian parents (like myself) find their children taken by the enemy. As the children of Israel that were enslaved in Egypt: ideals become subtly transformed from values once held dear and before we know it, lives are violently hijacked. Too dramatic? Believe me, it happens.

Fearful times for a parent! Heartbreaking for most. After all, we strive hard to help our kids avoid the dumb mistakes we (may have) made. We want so much more for them!! True peace and happiness, however, only come from obeying God. For my children, mere words haven’t always cut it. They’ve wanted their own opportunity with trial and error.
Did I want this for them? No. Did I try to stop it? Yes.

It’s such a hard thing for a momma to watch. But… there is always Hope!
It has been in the slavery (or bondage) that a knowledge was gleaned by my kids. A knowledge, much like plunder, that is actually useful later. Just as Daniel was trained in the ways of Babylon and Joseph as an Egyptian, God can and will work everything for His Glory.

Experiences become gold when offered to God. – After the refining -after the Return, they are useful with others who are still chained.
As parents we plan for the best, but we must prepare for the worst. Equip, train, and remember that even Israel grew a hard heart. And if you find yourself there… Don’t despair dear one. Don’t grow weary while doing good! God CAN make a way when there SEEMS to be no other way. Read Esther again. For He is able to use even the rebellion of His children… for His GLORY -for His good!
Be assured, there is Hope on the other side!
